Enjoy the San Diego Beach

Southern California is more than just L.A. If you head a bit further south on Saturday, October 9th, you can join in the celebration of California beach life. Pacific Beachfest offers something for everyone who enjoys beaches. Located at on the Boardwalk, this family-friendly event goes from 11 am to 7:30 pm and is free. If you’re a resident or staying in a San Diego boutique hotel you’ll want to make your way down for a day of sun, surf and fun.

The 2010 Beachfest will include demonstrations by professional skaters at the VANS/Pacific Drive and Skateboard Mag sponsored Action Alley. There will be wind surfing , kite flying, and a Best of the Beach Fish Taco Challenge. Also on the schedule is a Beach Volleyball Tournament and an 8k Beach fun run/walk sponsored by SDCCU. Stroll through the merchant sidewalk sale and the arts and crafts village or relax at the PB Craft Beer Garden or the PB Food Court featuring Joe’s Crab Shack. Kids can enjoy the MEGA sand sculpture and kids area put on by Dreamworks Megamind or compete in the PB Alehouse South Coast/Billabong Kids Surf Contest. A variety of musical acts will take to the stage throughout the day and the BeachFest ends with a great fireworks display from Crystal Pier.
