This story first came to us in May 2008.

It doesn’t get much more schizophrenic than this, legally speaking.

In our current age of “zero tolerance,” public school students who have diabetes have been caught in a frustrating crossfire. On one hand, students with diabetes need syringes for injecting insulin and lancets for testing their blood glucose levels. On the other hand, many schools, wary of inadvertently encouraging or abetting illicit drug use, have set often harsh or impractical regulations in place to govern how students with diabetes may test or self-medicate.

In some schools, type 1 students must trek to the nurse’s office and give themselves injections while being observed. Both type 1 and type 2 students have to go to the nurse’s office to carry out even a finger stick test to determine their blood glucose level.

At the very least, this routine is highly disruptive, both for the student with diabetes and for those around them. Students and teachers are distracted by the comings and goings of classmates who may have to visit the nurse’s office up to 10 times a day.

For the students with diabetes, the constant interruptions take away from the time they spend learning. These rules single out the students, both for their disease and because there is an unspoken accusation that they could abuse the equipment used to control their diabetes.

That’s why the recent news here in Arizona is so refreshing: Former Governor Janet Napolitano signed a law that allows public school students to independently monitor their blood glucose levels in class up to 10 times daily and to use the necessary needles and lancets.

The impetus for the law came from a 2005 federal lawsuit in which a couple sued an Arizona high school for refusing to allow their son to carry monitoring equipment . In the suit, which was later settled out of court, the plaintiffs alleged that the school forbade the use of monitoring equipment under its zero-tolerance policy governing needles.

As well as relaxing the stringent regulation of diabetes-related needles and lancets, the new Arizona law allows volunteers and non-licensed school personnel to administer glycogen in emergencies when students have adverse reactions to insulin.

In most cases, school districts insist on closely monitoring what actions students with diabetes may take. Arizona’s step toward softening previously strict regulations may set an example that other states will soon follow.

Using 11 months of design and development, the Bavarian design house “Unique Sportcars” has completed their first design concept: A Super Sports Car for the streets.

Limiting the series to the number of 11, the unique “Calavera” design is based on the Ferrari F430, collaborating exclusively with Ferrari Specialist Novitec Rosso and Airbrush Artist Knud Tiroch.

The “Calavera” concept (Spanish: Skull) is the brand of Unique Sportcars, mother of future design implementations. In touch with modern fashion, Unique Sportcars has combined “whats hot” with a luxurious sports car, the “Calavera”.

All involved create an inspiring team. For over 20 years, Novitec is well-known on the tuning scene. In the early 90s, Novitic received attention and recognition for their Turbo- and Supercharged motors for Alfa Romeo. 2003 was the year of the first Novitec Rosso twin-supercharger engine for Ferrari, making a statement to professionals worldwide.

Knud Tiroch is one of a kind. He belongs to Europe`s finest Airbrush artists and is responsible for creating the exclusive designs on chassis and interior. His finesse was of great use to David Coulthard, ZZ Top, Arnold Schwarzenegger and many more.

The whole procedure of tuning includes completely dismantling the vehicle`s frame, including the tires and rims. The modifications of engine, aerodynamics, tire and wheel package, rims and sports exhaust system are done by Novitec.

All custom work is completed within about 3 months. A bolide, right on schedule for the last series of the Ferrari F430; creating a new sensation.

Thailand is the only country in the world that offers a retirement visa to anyone 50 or older. When people become bored in their profession or they are laid off they often wonder if they could go into a career in sales. This is beyond selling clothes at the mall, but look into you past at jobs you had when you were younger. They can be very telling if you would enjoy a career is sales.

If you worked at a clothing store did you enjoy or feel good when you met sales goals? If so a job in sales might be for you.

Even think back to when you were younger and sold stuff for you school or perhaps Girl Scout Cookies, did you find it easy to sell to your friends and family?

The point is that most people can sell almost anything with the right sales training.( All it takes is some leadership skills and a drive.

Most people already have had a least a little customer service training, they used to call it manners, ask your mother.

Mostly you need to be very open-minded. If you let employers know you like to sell and have willingness for on the job business training in their industry they will be willing to give you a chance.

When looking at sales jobs on a job board it is often a good idea to picture selling that product. How would you sell it? What would you say?

Most importantly you have to be able to sell yourself. If you can’t sell yourself in a job interview, you may not be capable of selling a product for a company, at least in their eyes. However, don’t give up if you get rejected. You will be able to find

the perfect opportunity for you. All you need is a little passion and determination, which is the cornerstone of any person who thinks they can be in sales.

The Singapore Art Museum opened in January of 1996 in a building that is as beautiful as the art it contains. Its mission is to present the artwork of Singapore and Asia’s Southeast region, as well as having a focus on preserving art histories. This ambitious museum has been able to amass the largest collection in the world of Southeast Asian art and has a continually growing collection of international works. The collection includes paintings, installations, multimedia, photographs, drawings and prints. It has over 7000 Southeast and Singaporean pieces and over 1000 works from its Tyler Print collection. These include the work from some of the 20th century’s most prominent artists from the international scene, including Frank Stella and Roy Lichterstein. The Mughals are responsible for the level of artistry that is exhibited in modern jewelry craftsman in the city of Dehli, India today. The two different techniques are the Meenakari and the Kundan. Both are just equally splendid and intricate, and neither one really outshines the other. The Kundan art form is inspired by the Mughals, and involves setting precious stones and gems into intricate patterns of sculpted silver and gold. This isn’t just seen in the jewelry, many buildings and Delhi 5 star hotels are decorated in this gilded manner, the most famous of those buildings being the Taj Mahal . The gems are laid in a bed of gold leaf, they are not secured by the claw or rim. This is a much more artistic piece of art, more than just a mere necklace orbracelet.

Meenakari is the craft of enamel-work. This was introduced to Delhi by the Hindu Punjabis of Lahore. Enameling was originally just used to ensure the protection of gold. Gold in its pure state is malleable and very soft and easily worn away. The fashion of the Mughals was to enamel the backside of the jewelry in order to protect it from the skin, as just the contact of the gold with skin caused it to wear. The technique involves the hollowing out of the surfaces of silver or gold, to make a space for a particular mineral. Different minerals produce different colors during the firing process. Any single piece of jewelry that is the result of using both the techniques of Kundan and Meenakari are said to be so magnificent and astounding that one often refers to them as one of the wishes granted after rubbing the magic lamp of Aladdin.

The Las Palmas Golf course, open all year round, can be found on the island of Mallorca, in the area of Palma de Mallorca. The nearest airport is only 10km away where local transportation can be provided to one of the luxury hotels Palma. The Ear Inn is an historical landmark, on the registry of the U.S. Department of the Interior. This building was constructed in 1817 for James Brown. Not the singer, but an aide reported to have served during the revolution under George Washington. The famous painting of Washington in the small boat crossing the Delaware River by Cass Gilbert, features Brown at Washington’s side. Preceding the war, Brown moved to New York and became a farmer in the lucrative business of growing and trading tobacco. He carried on business in the Southern United States as well as some of the countries in Europe. He was quite a successful businessman and moved to Greenwich Village, just aside the Hudson River, the restaurants, and a number of Manhattan accommodation that were beginning to thrive in the neighborhood. His residence was close to Washington’s, and then later presidents and New York politicians such as John Adams and Aaron Burr.

This is one of just a couple federal houses still standing in New York City today, still representing the architecture and original work of the time. One critic of architectural structures states that the building encapsulates the sense of the time period. A need for an intimate space, a close scale that indicates the psychology of another way of living and a different century, with different sets of cultural needs and values. Once James Brown died, Thomas Cooke moved in. Cooke made is own beer and sold whiskey to the sailors coming into port. By the mid 1800′s the building was gaining quite a reputation, as a brothel, an alcohol smuggler’s den during the prohibition, a boarding house, and a haunted house. Legend has is that some poor sailor by the name of Mickey still roams the halls ‘waiting for his ship to come in’, literally. The Ear Inn is still in operation today, a lounge, a restaurant specializing in home cooked meals, and hotel is the more respectful terminology, but those who work there ask of those who stay there, to tell of stories or strange occurrences that may go bump in the night.
